About this route
Nosara is the surf-and-yoga end of the Nicoya Peninsula, and getting there is the part nobody mentions in the brochures: the final approach is rough, unpaved and genuinely slow, particularly in green season when the river crossings and washboard sections are at their worst. It is a short distance that takes real time. This is one of the routes where sending a driver who runs it every week is not a luxury.
Route notes: Last 25 km are unpaved and slow — the drive takes longer than the distance suggests. In heavy rain we may route via Sámara; your driver will call it on the day.
